Rev. Ballard George

Rev. Ballard George left this world for his Eternal World on Friday, May 10, 2013. Born in 1933, he was a son of the late Henry and Carrie George. Ballard loved his grandchildren and was an avid Nascar fan. He also loved bluegrass music and playing his five string banjo. He was the founder and owner of George's Wheel Alignment for 50 years, and was known for being the best known alignment man in Greenville. He leaves behind two daughters, Beverly McDowell Linwood, and Kathy Careatti Daniel; a son, Jerry George Connie; one sister, Doris Robinson; and three brothers, Roy, Frankie, and Joe George; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He also leaves behind many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elloree C. George, three sisters, and four brothers. Visitation will be held Monday, May 13, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the Thomas McAfee Northwest Chapel. Entombment will be held at the Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greenville Cancer Society, 113 Mills Ave., Greenville, SC 29605. The family would like to thank the staff of Oakmont West for the care they provided. The family will be at the home of Kathy and Daniel Careatti, 1190 Batson Rd, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
