Richard Karpinski

December 12, 1930 - April 1, 2013
Richard Karpinski, 82, of Greenville, beloved husband of 55 years to Irene Karpinski, passed peacefully from this life on April 1, 2013. He was born in Hatfield, MA, son of the late Stefan and Feliksa Maliszewska Karpinski. Richard retired from Pratt and Whitney where he worked for many years as an engineer. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Richard greatly enjoyed gardening and researching family genealogy. In addition to his wife he is survived by daughter, Sharon Copeland of GA; sons, John Karpinski of CT and Steven Karpinski and his wife, Rosemary of CT; grandchildren, Abigail and Oliver Copeland, Jennica and Jolene Karpinski; sister, Edna Pysz of MA; brothers, Albin Karpinski of MA and Leonard Karpinski of Washington DC; and many nieces and nephews. A private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3535 Pelham Rd., Ste. 101, Greenville, SC 29615.
