Richard Otto Ricke, 93, of Greenville, husband of Betty Allen Ricke, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at his residence. Born in Ozone Park, NY, he was the son of the late Richard Ricke and Pauline Boschansky Ricke. Mr. Ricke was a US Army, WW II veteran, a Mason, and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife of 68 years, he is survived by his three daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Wingate Alex, of Goldsboro, NC, Beverly Gayle Kennedy Richard, of Marianna, FL, and Denise Annette Seda Pete, of Valparaiso, FL; 7 grandchildren, Andy Wingate Sonya, of Goldsboro, NC, Heidi Hannam Matthew, of Cape Coral, FL, Mary Franklin Craig, of Mt. Olive, NC, Marie Castaneda, of Blountstown, FL, Julie Kennedy, of Hammond, LA, Amanda Tomczyk, and Josh Grant, of Seattle, WA; 10 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Claire Allen; nieces and nephews, Cary Allen Susie, Clay Allen Elisabeth, Charlotte Allen, Craig Allen Marika, Celeste Marcone Dean, Cheryl McCary Scott, Claudia Moose Billy, Carol Dentici James, Janet Squicciarini. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Gunderman. The visitation will be held in the Parlor of Trinity Lutheran Church Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
