Virgil James Ramey

March 21, 1924 - December 21, 2013
James Virgil Ramey passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013.
Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Issac Newton Ramey and Mary Holcombe. He was retired from Alice Manufacturing. Virgil was a member of Glassy Mountain Baptist Church in Pickens. He is survived by his loving wife, Hannah Mulligan Ramey, married sixty-six years; one daughter, Shirley Pepper Raymond of Moonville; two sons, Reverend Tommy Ramey Darleen of Piedmont, Allen Ramey Darla of Six Mile; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Predeceased by a granddaughter, Rita Pepper.
The Funeral service will be held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel. Visitation will be prior, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will be at the home.
