Wayman Hugh "Sid" Garren, Jr., 81, of Greenville, loving husband of Betty Lois Garren, died Thursday, July 28, 2011. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Wayman Hugh Garren, Sr. and Marie Elizabeth Fortune Garren. Mr. Garren served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and retired from Sullivan Company. He was a Charter member of Hampton Park Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Becky Dean Mike of Greenville; three sons, W. Keith Garren Darla of West Virginia, Tony Garren Lynn of Ohio and Tim Garren Marge of Canada; nine grandchildren, Joshua and Justin Garren, Haley and Michael Dean, Emily and Elizabeth Garren, Abby, Esther and Grace Garren. Mr. Garren was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Garren and Jack O. Garren. Memorials may be made to Gospel Fellowship Association GFA, 1809 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Suite 110, Greenville, SC 29609 or Fayette Bible Church Gymnasium Fund, www.fayettebible.org. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 1, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Northwest chapel. A private family burial will follow the service.
