Alfred “Al” Donald Giovannelli, 83, husband of Arlene Roley Giovannelli, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 following a lengthy illness.
Born in Perryopolis, PA, he was a son of the late Alfred Giovannelli, Sr. and Rose Dreon Giovannelli.
Al graduated from Brownsville High School and was a longtime resident of Rostraver Township. He spent his career as a Journeyman Brick and Stone Mason and did refractory work for glass manufacturers. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, the International Union of Bricklayers Local #9, the Washington Chapter Tri County Masonic Lodge #252, and Donora Sons of Italy Lodge #0730, Perryopolis. Al also served in the US Army Corps of Engineers.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Lewis of Florence, SC, and Brenda Hamberis and husband, Paul, of Greenville; four grandchildren, Kyle Lewis, Conner Lewis, Ian Hamberis, and Evan Hamberis; and two brothers, Louis Giovannelli of Perryopolis, PA, and Dan Giovannelli and wife, Mary Ann of Summerville, SC.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast Chapel followed by a time of visitation.
