Dorothy Bagwell Pruitt, 86, of Piedmont, widow of Hilliard Garrett Pruitt, died Thursday, November 24, 2016.
Born in Greenville she was a daughter of the late William Earl and Lillie Mae Bagwell.
Dorothy was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. She retired from JP Stevens, Dunean Mill and later retired from Greenville County Sheriff’s office as a crossing guard. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Holcombe (Bob); one son, Ernest Joe Pruitt (Lou); one granddaughter, Jennifer Williams (Troy); two Grandsons, Garrett Pruitt (Beth) and Brent Pruitt (Alaina); and six great grandchildren, Hunter Kuykendall, Lane Burnett, Raygan, Joey, Breanna, and Myles Pruitt.
In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by, one brother, James Davis; and one sister, Helen Prince.
A visitation will be held Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The graveside service will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Graceland Cemetery, West with the burial to follow.
The family will be at the home of Robert and Joyce Holcombe.
